QNAP have launched their enterprise grade TS-1886XU-RP NAS (naming might need some work). It's no slouch on specs with an Intel Xeon D-1600 series CPU, up to 128GB of ECC DDR4 memory and performance to boot.
Squeezed into a 2RU rackmount chassis the TS-1886XU-RP has hybrid storage with twelve 3.5 inch HDD and six SSD bays. This allows QNAP's Qtier technology to auto tier your storage and optimise it for optimal performance.
You wouldn't expect less than 10 gigabit connectivity out of a NAS these days and you get exactly that with this NAS. Four PCIe expansion slots (mins the pre-installed dual-port 10GbE SFP+ smart NIC) maintains high performance while not killing your CPU. RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE and RoCEv2) make sure you're good to go with network and performance.
Need a little more network speed? no problem you can install up to 40 gigabit network cards into the chassis. Additional cards for M.2 SSD drives and SAS connectivity are also available. If you prefer a fibre option the TS-1886XU-RP can be added to a fibre channel SAN.
Fully scalable and with support for VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V virtualisation as well as Windows Server 2019, you can throw it into almost any scenario. If you're looking for more storage for your surveillance system the NAS can also be used, QVR Pro helps provide this and includes 8 camera channels by default with options of up to 128 with further licenses.
